... the same applies to us: Alexander Ortlieb designs and turns all his products on his own – this is why all products are purely unique specimens: hand-turned bowls, pepper mills or vases. Top priority is thereby given to design! He is supported by a well-educated team; above all regarding cut-to-size, varnishing and assembly work, or regarding the processing of products manufactured in small series.

A variety of awards confirm the beautifully designed and modern products, such as e.g. the Karl-Reuss recognition award „designing of handcraft“. Also for the special exhibits FORM2002, -2003 and –2005, several of our products have been singled out.

Our turnery is located in Bernau in the beautiful Black Forest – for Alexander Ortlieb a landscape full of inspiration for new ideas and thoughts!
Already the important German artist Hans Thoma, born in Bernau, identified the magic of this wide high-lying valley: „There I forget all my concerns and the peace of nature also surrounds my heart“.
